Tiger reserves in India Kanha National Park Kanha National park is one of the biggest parks in Madhya Pradesh, India. 'Kanha National Park' is a national park and a Tiger Reserve in the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh, India. In the 1930s, Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar, of 250 and 300 km. Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955. Today it stretches over an area of 940 km in the two districts Mandla and Balaghat. Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,067 km² and the neighboring 110 km Phen Sanctuary it forms the Kanha Tiger Reserve. This makes it the largest National Park in Central India. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. Bandhavgarh tiger reserve This park has a large biodiversity. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of leopard, and various species of deer. Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa captured the first white tiger in this region in 1951. This white tiger Mohan is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa. Historically villagers and their cattle have been a threat to the tiger. Rising mining activities around the park are putting the tigers at risk. Jim Corbett national park Corbett has been a heaven for tourists and wildlife lovers since a long time. Tourism is only allowed in selected areas of Corbett Tiger Reserve so that people get an opportunity to see its splendid landscape and the diverse wildlife. In previous years the number of people coming here has increased dramatically. Every season more than 70,000 visitors come to the park from India and other countries. Corbett National Park is 520.8 km. Area of marshy depressions, hills, grass lands, river belts, and large lake. It ranges from 1,300 feet to 4,000 feet. Winter nights in Corbett Park are cold but the days are bright and sunny. It rains from July to September. Sundarban national park It is a National park,Biosphere reserve, and a Tiger reserve in West bengal, India. It is part of the Sundarbans on the Ganga’s delta, and adjacent to the sundarban delta forest in Bangladesh. The delta is densely covered by mangroves, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tigers.
